The European Investment Fund (EIF), part of the EIB Group, has added a €250 million uncapped guarantee to its existing €75 million agreement with BNP Paribas under the InvestEU program. This expansion raises the total to €325 million, expected to mobilize at least €465 million in financing for innovative and sustainable companies across Europe. The initiative targets scale-ups driving green and digital transitions.

Up to 25-30 new transactions are foreseen annually, potentially reaching 100 over three years. BNP Paribas Growth Capital & Solutions and its CPBS division will oversee deployment across three portfolios focused on innovation and sustainability. The partnership leverages BNP Paribas’ network of 200 bankers and 5,200 start-up clients to accelerate European economic growth.

EIB Vice-President Ambroise Fayolle highlighted how guarantees enable banks to fund higher-risk projects essential for innovation. BNP Paribas Growth Solutions head Christopher Kramme emphasized the collaboration’s role in positive regional impact. In 2025, the EIB Group signed nearly €5 billion in similar guarantees for SMEs.

This deal reinforces the EU’s InvestEU goals of mobilizing €372 billion in investments through a €26.2 billion budget guarantee, supporting competitiveness and sustainability.
